- 30 mins Total Time
For the turkey burger patties
- 1 lb. 93% Lean / 7% Fat Ground Turkey (or use whatever lean point you prefer!)
- ¼ onion, minced in a food processor
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. Gochujang
- 1 tbsp. ketchup
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- Freshly cracked pepper
- 1 tbsp. avocado oil (or canola oil if preferred)
For the Gochujang Glaze
- 2 tbsp. Gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
- 1 ½ tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. brown rice vinegar
For the burger
- 4 whole wheat buns, toasted
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Mozzarella cheese slices
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onions
Step 1Start by making the turkey burger patties. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Shady Brook Farms® Ground Turkey, 2 tablespoons of the minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, Gochujang, ketchup, and season with salt and pepper. Mix together until combined. Form and shape four turkey patties of equal size.
Step 2Using a large pan or skillet over medium high heat, heat up your pan for a few minutes.
Step 3While your skillet is heating up, you can make the Gochujang glaze. Whisk together all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Taste and adjust any ingredients as needed. Set aside.
Step 4Once skillet is hot, add the avocado oil and after a minute or two, add the turkey patties and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned and cooked through (turkey should reach an internal temperature of 165°F).
Step 5Remove the turkey patties from the heat and onto a plate.
Step 6To assemble the burger, place some cheese on top your toasted whole wheat bottom bun, add a turkey patty, some Gochujang glaze, and top with lettuce, tomatoes and red onion. Spread some mayonnaise on the other bun and add it on top of the burger. Enjoy!
