Grilled Hawaiian Turkey Burgers

Ground turkey burgers flavored with teriyaki sauce and smoky chipotle peppers grilled to perfection and topped with a savory teriyaki bbq sauce and grilled pineapple salsa. This bright and flavorful burger will be a staple for your summer cookouts!

Burger Ingredients

Pineapple Salsa

  • ½ a red onion, diced
  • ½ cup cilantro, diced
  • 1 cup grilled pineapple, diced
  • 1/4 a jalapeno, diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Juice of ½ a lime

Teriyaki BBQ Sauce

  • ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • Step 1

    In a mixing bowl combine the ground turkey with teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chopped chipotle peppers. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 2

    Form the ground turkey into 4 equal burger patties. Place on a plate, cover, and refrigerate until ready to cook.

    In a small mixing bowl make the bbq sauce by combining the teriyaki sauce with ketchup and sriracha. Place in the fridge until ready to serve.

    Preheat the grill to medium high heat and place the patties and pineapple on the grill. (The pineapple can be in large pieces or small, skewered pieces.)

    Cook the patties and pineapple for 5-6 minutes on the first side, then flip.

    Cook an additional 6-7 minutes or until the burgers are cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

    If you would like cheese, add a slice of pepperjack cheese to each burger before removing from the grill.

    Remove the burgers, set aside and let rest.
  • Step 9

    Toast the buns quickly on the grill for 1 minute then remove from the grill.

    Dice the grilled pineapple and combine with the red onion, cilantro, diced jalapeno, salt, and lime juice.
  • Step 11

    To build the burger place the patty on the bun, top with the bbq sauce and pineapple salsa.
