Grilled Italian-Style Turkey Sausage Skewers with Creamy Lemon Basil Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 package Shady Brook Farms® Lean Turkey Sausage Links – Sweet Italian
- OR 1 package Shady Brook Farms® Lean Turkey Sausage Links – Hot Italian
- 3 bell peppers, red, yellow, and green cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
- 1 large red onion, cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
- 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Vegetable oil, for the grill grates and brushing on skewers
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Skewers, if using wooden allow to soak at least 30 minutes in water
Creamy Lemon Basil Sauce
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup loose packed fresh basil leaves
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 Tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

Step 1
Heat a large skillet to medium heat, add in 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and the sausages. Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning frequently until nicely browned and the sausages reach an internal temperature of 165°F. -
Step 2
When cool enough to handle, cut each sausage into 8 slices of equal size. -
Step 3
Thread sausage slices, peppers, and onions onto skewers. Brush with oil and lightly season with salt and pepper. -
Step 4
Preheat a grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates. Place the skewers on the grill approximately 3-5 minutes per side until veggies and sausages are nicely charred and the sausages reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Serve with Creamy Lemon Basil Sauce. -
Step 5
Creamy Lemon Basil Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth and combined. Serve with Grilled Italian-Style Sausage Skewers.
