Turkey Nuggets

5-Ingredient Turkey Nuggets are an affordable kids meal that boasts a veggie right in the mix. Try with a delicious puree of red pepper and parmesan, or a favorite dip like ketchup or ranch.

  • 6-8 Servings
  • 10 minutes Prep Time
  • 12 minutes Total Time

Ingredients

  • Step 1

Mash together the turkey, sweet potato, salt, and onion powder in a medium bowl with a potato masher or a large fork. Place the breadcrumbs into a separate shallow bowl.
  • Step 2

Form the chicken mixture into 1-tablespoon size balls and roll in breadcrumbs.
  • Step 3

Flatten slightly (or form into tot-shapes). Optional: Spray or brush lightly with olive oil.
  • Step 4

To cook in the air fryer, place onto a greased tray or basket and cook for 10-12 minutes at 400°F, or until cooked through to 165°F with an instant read meat thermometer. (Or, bake in the oven—set a greased wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet for best results—for 22-24 minutes at 375°F or until golden brown on the bottom.)
  • Step 5

Serve warm with pureed roasted red peppers and Parmesan or with other dips like ketchup! *To easily roast a sweet potato, wash and place into the crockpot (don’t dry). Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or until soft. You can do that up to 5 days ahead and stash in the fridge. Or buy mashed sweet potato at the store.
